Zoran Kapelan presented water smartness in Naples

The keynote talk questioned what is a smart solution in the water sector.
Traditionally these solutions are understood widely as the ones that process some data, from sensors and/or other sources, by using machine learning and artificial intelligence type techniques and then use the newly generated information and models to improve some aspect of water management.
Kapelan presented examples of such solutions from his own past work but then argued that other forms of smartness exist.
He used the resource recovery based biocomposite material example to support this claim and introduced the work that the Dutch team is doing on this in Wider Uptake.
